    BACKGROUND TO SCHOOL

Our Lady’s Tullysaran was formed out of the amalgamation of Tullysaran and Tullymore schools in 1997. It has six classrooms and two resource areas. Of the seven teachers who transferred from the old schools three are currently in their teaching posts. The school prides itself in delivering a broad and balance education in line with the requirements of the Northern Ireland Curriculum.

In our seventeen years of existence we have celebrated many achievements, academic, sporting and cultural.

In school we place a great emphasis on pastoral care. We strive to ensure all our pupils feel secure and happy so that they can achieve their full potential.

Enrolment in the school is currently 141 pupils with a Reception class for those who wish to avail of it.

As a Catholic school we pride ourselves in our Catholic ethos which is very much in evidence throughout the school. Confirmation and First Communion are big community celebrations.

We have a wide variety of extra curricular activities on offer. Currently we have Drama, ICT, Maths, Zumba, Violin, Basketball, Soccer, Gaelic Football, Camogie and Hurling. We also offer extra lessons for pupils in Primary 7 preparing for public exams, eg: IT Accreditation and transfer tests.

We provide all children with a broad and balanced curriculum with a wide variety of enriching experiences spread over their primary school career.

It is the policy of the school to make parents feel welcome, so don’t hesitate to contact the school if you have any concerns. It is better to talk to us rather than about us.
